Guard - Tina Babel - Instructor

What is Color Guard? A color guard uses a combination of dance, interpretive

guard

movement, flags, rifles, and other equipment during a marching band performance in order to create visual and effect to the show.

Why Color Guard? The purpose of color guard is to foster positive experiences for all who participate by promoting creativity, performance, and movement and equipment skills. Color guard teaches us to work both as an individual and as a team, and furthers lifelong friendships among the team.

How? It’s simple: Tryout. We will have a practice on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm at the Fort Zumwalt North gym where you will learn:

    • Simple movement and dance techniques
    • Spinning
    • Tosses
    • Flourishes and Figure Eights
    • And much more

You will also learn a simple routine which you will use for tryouts. Tryouts will then be on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Bring a lunch with you to practice, and wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes. We look forward to seeing you there.
